Vardan Voskanyan: Iran warns Baku dictator that ‘no path will remain closed’ for it
Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan has reacted to the statement of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi on the possibility of Iranian cargo transportation through Armenia bypassing Azerbaijani-controlled road section in Syunik Province.
"Judging by the latest tweet of Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Ghasemi, solutions have been found to carry out Iranian cargo transportation through Armenian territory bypassing the Azerbaijani bashi-bazouks, and the regional transit maps will change completely in the near future,” Voskanyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
“It's noteworthy that, in fact, in contrast and in response to Baku’s and Ankara’s dreams of the so-called ‘Zangezur corridor’, the Iranian minister used the term ‘Caucasus corridor’, which will ensure Iran's access to the Black Sea and Europe exclusively through Armenia and Georgia.
“Without mentioning names, Rostam Ghasemi also warned the dictator of Baku that ‘no path will remain closed for Iran’,” the expert said.
