Robert Kocharyan offers condolences on passing of Ambassador Vigen Chitechyan
Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan issued a condolence message on the death of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vigen Chitechyan.
The diplomat died on Wednesday at the age of 80, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
"I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of prominent statesman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vigen Chitechyan. His contribution to the state building efforts is exceptional, his role in the establishment of Armenian diplomacy is undeniable,” Kocharyan said.
“I remember with great warmth the human and teacher qualities of Vigen Chitechyan during my studies.
“I express my deep condolences to Vigen Chitechyan's relatives and all those who had the honor of working with that patriotic and professional man,” the message reads.
