Iran's Prosecutor General says recent developments require closer cooperation with Armenia
"Armenia and Iran have always enjoyed good diplomatic and political relations. The recent developments in the region make us strengthen further the bilateral interactions," the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said on Wednesday.
To remind, Jafar Montazeri is in Armenia on a three-day visit.
In the words of the Iranian official, the cooperation between Iran and Armenia should stay at the highest level, and all preconditions for that are there.
"As Iranian officials have stated on numerous occasions, serious steps are required to develop our relations. Both Armenia and Iran reiterated that terrorists will never be tolerated," stressed Montazeri.
The Prosecutor General noted as well that Iran maintains friendly relations with all neighboring countries, expressing hope they would accept this approach of Iran before escalating any issue.
