Georgia's COVID-19 cases surpass 670,000
Georgia on Tuesday reported 5,739 new COVID-19 cases, taking its total caseload to 670,552, according to official figures.
Data from the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health showed that 2,082 more patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 616,937, Xinhua reported.
Meanwhile, 36 people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 9,546.
The center said 56,555 tests have been conducted in the past 24 hours around the country.
As of Tuesday, the country had administered a total of 1,920,934 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, said the center.
Georgia reported its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on Feb. 26, 2020.
