Russian peacekeepers to provide water for more than 300 families in remote settlements of Artsakh within two weeks
Russian peacekeepers have begun to fullfil tasks to ensure security during repair and restoration work on the water pipeline in Askeran region near the demarcation line in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Specialists of the humanitarian response centre of the Russian peacekeeping contingent processed the request of the head of Askeran region and proceeded to ensure the safety of workers for two weeks while carrying out engineering work on laying of waterway, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
After they finish the work, with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, more than 300 families of Khramort settlement will be provided with drinking water through the pipeline.
Last month, with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers, a water well was launched to supply drinking water through a pipeline to more than 2,000 residents of Krasny Bazar and Tagavard settlements in the Martuni district. Also, the peacekeepers continue to ensure the safety of workers when working on the water supply system in Machkalashen village, Martuni region. After the completion of work, more than 400 residents of the settlement will be provided with drinking water in the Martuni district.
