MP Tigran Abrahamyan says raised issue of military pay rise
Security expert Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition With Honor parliamentary faction, says he raised the issue of military pay rise at a joint meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committees on Defense and Security and on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs on Monday.
In particular, he calls for increasing the salaries and bonuses of contract servicemen and officers serving at the border.
“First of all, it’s about the personnel who serve in rather difficult conditions, close to the enemy positions in Syunik,” he wrote on Facebook. “Naturally, the problem is not only in this area, but in Syunik this issue is the most urgent."
“A serviceman, a man who has taken up the military profession and has devoted his life to his homeland, is at the heart of the security system restructuring.
“The social problems of these people and their families should be solved as a matter of priority so that they think only about their service and deal exclusively with these matters,” Abrahamyan said.
