Opposition 'Armenia' bloc calls for nationwide rally on November 8
The opposition 'Armenia' bloc has issued a statement, calling on citizens to join a nationwide rally planned on November 8 at Liberty Square in Yerevan. In a released statement, the bloc said 'the government of lies and falsehood brought war and defeat in 2020 under the credo of peace'. "They stole victories and holidays from us, instead bringing days of mourning and humiliation. The government again promises peace to us in the form of the so-called 'peace era'. This means new concessions, a new disgrace, a new humiliation, and ultimately a new defeat which we can no longer afford," the statement read in part. It notes that the authorities which are the symbol of the defeat cannot represent the interests of the country with dignity.
"We should form a national resistance and change the power which is a precondition to take the country out of the current situation, establish a decent peace, overcome the socio-economic crisis and ensure the security of our country," the statement added.
