Armenian wrestler David Ovasapyan crowned vice-world champion
Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler David Ovasapyan (130 kg) has won the vice-champion title and the silver medal at the U23 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Armenian athlete lost the final bout to Amin Mirzazadeh of Iran on Thursday, the Wrestling Federation of Armenia reported.
Two other Armenian wresters – Hrachya Poghosyan (63 kg) and Shant Khachatryan (72 kg) – won bronze medals.
The Armenian U23 Greco-Roman wrestling team took the seventh place at the championships.
Freestyle wrestlers will enter the competition from Friday.
