Criminal case opened over Azerbaijani shooting near Shushi
The Artsakh Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case into the Azerbaijani attack on the Artsakh civilians near the occupied town of Shushi, which left one person killed and three others injured.
The Azerbaijani troops opened fire at a group of civilians working on a water pipe at a crossroad near Shushi late on Monday afternoon after crossing into the area called “Shushi Tak” on the Shushi-Berdzor highway.
As a result of the incident, Stepanakert resident Martik Yeremyan, 22, died from head injuries on the spot. Three other Artsakh civilians, identified as Gevorg Melkumyan, Gagik Ghazaryan and Armen Sargsyan, suffered gunshot wounds. They are undergoing treatment at the Stepanakert hospital.
The preliminary probe is underway, the Investigative Committee said.
Urgent measures are being taken to find out all the circumstances of the incident.
