10 children hospitalized with suspected food poisoning in Yerevan
Ten children were taken to hospital with suspected food poisoning in Yerevan, the Food Safety Inspection Body reported on Wednesday.
Eight of the poisoned children were taken to the Muratsan Hospital Complex, while two others were hospitalized at the National Center of Infectious Diseases. All of them are students of the Elka Children's Developmental Center, aged 8 to 11, the National Centre of Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia’s Ministry of Health told the Food Safety Inspection Body.
Food safety officers visited the center last night and conducted inspections there. They took samples from the food prepared for children, as well as surfaces in contact with food.
The results of the examination will be reported additionally, it said.
