The US State Department condemns the killing of Armenian civilian by Azeri forces near Shushi
The Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department has condemned the killing of the Armenian civilian by Azerbaijani forces in Artsakh. To remind, on Monday the Azerbaijans forces opened fire on workers of the Artsakh Water and Sewage Service who were repairing a damaged water pipe near the road leading to Shushi, killing one civilian and injuring three others.
"We condemn the violence that caused the death of an Armenian civilian. We urge Armenia and Azerbaijan to intensify their engagement including through the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to resolve all outstanding issues related to or resulting from the NK conflict," the Bureau tweeted on Tuesday.
To remind, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Artsakh Republic has classified the killing of the civilian as terrorism.
