Armenian defense minister takes part in CIS meeting in Moscow
Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow, Russia on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry reported.
The sides discussed more than 20 issues on the agenda, including the development of multilateral cooperation in the defense sphere and the conduct of the Regional Security-2022 joint computer-simulated command and staff exercise of the CIS member states' integrated air defense system.
The joint combat of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection (RCBP) Troops, humanitarian demining of joint engineering units, and joint training of military personnel were also discussed.
The members of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers exchanged views on the military and political situation and security issues, highly assessing the 30-year experience and areas of development of military cooperation within the CIS.
At the end of the meeting, a number of resolutions of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers, including the work plan for 2022, were signed.
