Dog’s steel rope cuts off child's four fingers in Yerevan
Doctors from Yerevan's Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center performed a complicated finger surgery for a 12-year-old boy, the hospital said in a statement on Friday.
The incident occurred while the child was walking his dog with a steel cable wrapped around his fingers instead of a standard dog lead. The dog ran off, with the cable cutting off four of the child’s fingers.
The replantation of fingers lasted 10 hours, the hospital said.
The Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center urges people to walk their pets only with leashes intended for them to avoid similar accidents in the future.
