FM discussed the protection of the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in Artsakh with UNESCO Director-General
The endangered cultural and religious heritage of Artsakh which is part of the world cultural heritage, requires urgent preventive measures by the international community in order to properly preserve it in the face of Azerbaijani deliberate attempts of destruction and distortion of their identity, FM Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated on Thursday.
As the press department at the foreign ministry reports, the minister's remarks came at a meeting with Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay. In this context, Mirzoyan highlighted the need for immediate implementation of the UNESCO fact-finding mission in the territories fallen under the control of Azerbaijan as a result of the 44-days war of 2020.
