Opposition MP: Armenia's security challenges will keep increasing sharply in the near future
The security challenges facing Armenia will continue to rise sharply in the near future, according to MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition With Honor faction.
"The movements on the border with Azerbaijan in Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik Provinces, the strengthening of the enemy, as well as its unbridled behavior suggest that the current security threats will continue to increase dramatically in the near future,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“The terrain, military outposts in high mountainous areas, severe weather conditions, incomplete engineering and fortification works, as well as insufficient logistical support further complicate the task of our troops on the border.
“In the light of blows inflicted to the army by the internal and external enemies, real men, who put their homeland above anything else, are on the frontline.
“We must help our soldiers at all costs, while those who have brought our army to this point will eventually be held accountable,” Abrahamyan said.
