'Armenia' opposition bloc member Artur Sargsyan arrested
Member of 'Armenia' opposition bloc, former head of Sisian community of Armenia’s southeastern Syunik Province will be arrested again, lawmaker from Armenia bloc Aram Vardevanyan informed. The decision has been made following the ruling of the Court of Appeals.
To remind, Artur Sargsyan has been under detention since July, charged with abuse of office and fraud under Article 308 (Part 2) and Article 314 (Part 1) of Armenia’s Criminal Code. The Prosecutor's Office later filed a motion to the Central Electoral Commission to strip Sargsyan of immunity and the CEC granted the petition. The Court released Sargsyan on bail amounting to 20 man AMD on October 20.
