Armenian composer Arno Babadjanyan's anniversary to be marked at Aram Khachaturian Museum
Aram Khachaturian Museum is going to celebrate the 100th anniversary of renowned and beloved Armenian composer, Arno Babadjanyan, who is a follower of Aram Khachaturian's composing school, the Museum reported in a statement.
The jubilee concert will take place on November 18, at 19:00 and will feature the series “Musical Thursday in Khachaturian's House”. During the event, Laureate of International Competitions Hayk Melikyan (piano), Artsvik Demurchyan (vocals, soprano), Armine Grigoryan (piano), the pianist of Khachaturian Trio, Karen Shahgaldyan (violin), the violinist of Khachaturian Trio, Komitas National String Quartet will take part in the event.
The program will include Arno Babadjanyan's chamber works: Impromptu, Melody, Vagharshapat Dance, Elegy for piano, six pictures for piano: Improvisation, Folk Song, Toccatina, Intermezzo, Chorale, Sassoun Dance, Vocalise for voice & piano,, Sonata for violin & piano, String quartet Nº 3 dedicated to the Memory of Tchaikovsky.
