OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde has expressed concerns over reported incidents along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, calling for an immediate de-escalation of the situation.
“Share deep concern of Minsk Group Co-Chairs regarding reported incidents in the region, including those along Armenia-Azerbaijan border. Express my full support for their efforts & call on sides to de-escalate immediately & take steps to resolve outstanding issues,” she tweeted.
Azerbaijan used artillery and armored vehicles to launch a fresh attack on the Armenian military positions in the eastern border section late on Tuesday afternoon. There are casualties, both killed and wounded soldiers, on the Armenian side as a result of border clashes, the Defense Ministry of Armenia said, adding the intense fighting continues in the border area.
