Pashinyan, Aliyev agree to meet in Brussels
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have agreed to meet in Brussels in mid-December, the European Council representing EU member states said in a statement on Friday.
“Leaders have agreed to meet in Brussels to discuss the regional situation and ways of overcoming tensions for a prosperous and stable South Caucasus, which the EU supports,” the statement said.
The meeting is to take place on the sidelines of the EU’s Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels on December 15.
The announcement came after European Council President Charles Michel held phone calls with Pashinyan and Aliyev.
