FM Mirzoyan: Ankara sets new preconditions
"A land corridor connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan can not be a subject to negotiations," Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan told an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro. In the words of the minister, Armenia has repeatedly expressed readiness for normalizing the Armenian-Turkish relations without preconditions, despite the huge political and military support by Turkey to Azerbaijan during the war, including the deployment of thousands of foreign mercenaries.
"We have received positive messages from Turkey about starting a dialogue, however the matter remains complicated. Ankara sets new preconditions - 'a corridor' connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan among them. This can not be a subject to talks. States may allow transits while exercising their sovereignty over the territory. All communication routes in the regions should be unblocked," Mirzoyan said.
