The Armenian authorities have actually carried out a delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan, Arsen Babayan, a member of the opposition Homeland Party Board, claimed on Friday, ahead of the trilateral talks between the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani leaders in Sochi.

“I am pretty sure that the authorities have actually carried out delimitation and demarcation process,” he wrote on Facebook.

"In this regard, I have conducted the following analysis:

1. The Republic of Armenia has not carried out a final clarification of its territories after the independence. This work has not been completed even with friendly Georgia.

2. Hostile Azerbaijan set up police and customs checkpoints on the roads, which had been under Armenia’s control for 30 years.

3. The Armenian authorities claim that the areas, where the checkpoints are established, are not Armenian territory. The head of the government even used Azerbaijani troponins when referring to them.

4) Speaking at the latest live broadcast, the head of the government noted that the maps must have a legal basis. Otherwise, they are just pictures.

5. Many experts challenge the government's claims that, for example, the customs checkpoints on the Chakaten road section are in Azerbaijani territory, citing numerous convincing facts. However, the government remains silent.

6. The man holding the prime minister’s post stated during the live broadcast that they knew each millimeter of the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

“The combined analysis of these 6 points shows that the authorities have actually carried out delimitation and demarcation work, while it only remains for the commission to be set up to give it legal effect,” Babayan said.

“Once again, an anti-Armenian decision has been made behind the people’s back. How else can it be called other than betrayal?” he noted.
