23 Covid-19 deaths among vaccinated people recorded in Armenia – health minister
A total of 23 deaths from coronavirus among vaccinated people have been recorded in Armenia, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told a news conference on Monday.
The average age of the patients was over 75 and they suffered from chronic diseases, Avanesyan noted.
According to the minister, 1,217,391 vaccinations have been administered in Armenia to this point. 781,011 citizens, or 39% of adults, have received the first shot and 436,380 citizens, or 21.8% of adults, the second shot.
79 people had some health problems after getting vaccinated, Avanesyan said.
Currently, 2,900 people are hospitalized with Covid-19 in Armenia, of whom 102, or 3.5%, have been fully vaccinated, she added. Only 9 fully vaccinated patients are in serious condition.
"We hope that vaccinations will be equally effective against the new [Omicron] variant,” Avanesyan said.
