Armenian deputy minister denies reports about arrival of Russian delegation for border delimitation and demarcation
No Russian military delegation has arrived in Armenia to be engaged in the process of delimitation and demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan, Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan told a briefing on Thursday, refuting media reports.
"Delegations from Moscow come here periodically to discuss various issues. Don't forget that we have a [Russian] military base here. However, no group has arrived from Moscow for border delimitation and demarcation," he said.
Sargsyan attributed the repeated tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border to numerous unresolved issues, adding Azerbaijani will constantly try to take advantage of the situation.
He stated that “panic does not help secure the border.”
