Russian peacekeepers provide humanitarian assistance to residents of remote Artsakh region
Specialists of the humanitarian response centre of the Russian peacekeeping contingent provided humanitarian assistance to residents and displaced persons in the village of Badara in Artsakh's (Nagorno-Karabakh) Askeran region.
The peacekeepers carried out a humanitarian action in school. A humanitarian cargo with a total weight of about 1 ton was handed over to the residents, including children's and adult shoes, warm clothes and household items, school kits for students, as well as eight household kits to families in need, the Defense Ministry of Russia reported on Thursday.
From Moscow, humanitarian cargo from charitable organizations was delivered by a military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces and by road transport of the Russian peacekeeping contingent from the Erebuni military airfield (Republic of Armenia) to Stepanakert to the warehouses of the peacekeeping forces.
Since November 2020, the military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent with benefactors have provided more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid to displaced persons, large families and residents in need in cities and remote settlements, schools, kindergartens and boarding schools of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Russian peacekeepers regularly hold events to work with local residents, collect information on those most in need of assistance, interact with charitable organizations and transfer necessary humanitarian aid to children's educational institutions and families in Artsakh.
