Expert: Armenian authorities have stopped countering Turkey in any way
The Armenian authorities have refused any anti-Turkish process, according to international relations specialist Suren Sargsyan.
“I guess you have noticed that the Armenian authorities do not join any formal or informal anti-Turkish platforms, international alliances and formats. It is as a result of this refusal that the authorities have embarked on a search for mediators, asking for normalization of relations with Turkey. This fact cannot be negated,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“However, it is much more alarming that the authorities have also stopped countering and suppressing Turkey in any way. In international relations, countering is typical even of friendly but rival countries to advance their interests. This, in turn, means giving up all opportunities against Turkey, being deprived of all tools at some stage of negotiations and making unilateral concessions.
“In fact, Armenia has ceased to be a headache for Turkey, whereas Turkey continues to consider Armenia an enemy,” Sargsyan said.
