Inspections underway at ZCMC since July 8, despite term limitation set by law
The Government of Armenia adopted a decision on Thursday allowing the Office of the Prime Minister to procure metallographic analysis from Mountain Metallurgy Institute CJSC of 131 duplicate samples through the state procurement protocol from one person.
To note, Armenia’s Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body has been conducting inspections at the Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) in Syunik province since July 8 of the ongoing year, while the term of inspections is limited to 15 working days by law.
Considering the scope and volume of the inspection work, the term can be extended to 10 continuous working days, while for business entities with total turnover or revenue amounting to 3,0 billion AMD in the reported financial year, it can be extended to 75 continuous working days. Based on the above-mentioned, inspections at ZCMC were further extended to 75 working days.
The explanatory note to the government decision reads that during inspections a necessity was rose to conduct analysis of samples from copper and molybdenum alloys, manufactured at ZCMC from January 1, 2018 to December 30, 2020 inclusive, as well as in 2021 - in total 131 delicate samples which are subject to laboratory examination to compare with previous laboratory examination results
The Government has thus approved the allocation of 1,604.90 Armenian drams to Mountain Metallurgy Institute CJSC for the above-mentioned services.
To note, 20 out of the 54 agenda items under Government consideration for the Thursday cabinet session related to redistribution of expenditures in the Law on RA State Budget 2021, three items are subject to reporting and marked as secret.
