Hovhannes Hovhannisyan elected rector at Yerevan State University
The Yerevan State University (YSU) Board of Trustees elected Hovhannes Hovhannesyan as the YSU new rector with 19 in favor and 5 against votes to serve for five years in his new position. Hovhannisyan acted as interim rector at the University in the past four months.
To remind, two applications were submitted for the vacant position of the Rector. Besides from Hovhannisyan, Professor Artsruni Sahakyan, Doctor of Philological Science and History, had submitted his applications.
At a briefing with reporters, Hovhannisyan said his time at the YSU in the position of the interim rector proved that the image and reputation of the University have significantly increased.
