Menu.am: Order food delivery and go to bed hungry
Amid daily news about new casualties, losses, arrests, political bargaining and bickering in Armenia, the interests and rights of consumers are completely ignored.
The Menu.am delivery company of Vahan Kerobyan, Minister of Economy in the current Armenian government, is successfully taking advantage of the situation in the country. The service promises fast delivery, but because of its irresponsible work, people remain hungry. Incidentally, irresponsible conduct by the Ministry of Economy was also observed, but for now let us focus on Menu.am.
The company has set a new record, delivering the order of a citizen in the Kentron administrative district of Yerevan in nearly 3.5 hours despite the fact that the expected delivery time of orders from Menu.am varies from 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Contacting the editorial office of Panorama.am on Thursday, a citizen said that she ordered the food at 6:32pm. She needed to eat something quickly in order to drink the prescribed medicine.
However, she had to wait for hours for the order to be delivered. During that time, no employee of the company contacted her to inform that the food delivery would be delayed.
"At 8:15pm. I called the delivery company, but no one answered. I texted them on Facebook, but there was no response either. At 8:20pm. I called them again and was told that the courier would arrive in five minutes. I warned them that I would stay at the given address until 8:30pm and if the food was delivered later, it would no longer be needed," the citizen says.
As expected, the order was not delivered by 8:30pm. At 8:36pm., the citizen told the company to cancel the order because she was already leaving the area.
"Later at 10:05pm, the courier calls me and asks if I have placed the order. I tell him that I submitted it at 6:32pm and, naturally, don’t need it anymore. I next report the incident to the office of the company. About ten minutes later, the company calls me, saying, “the courier told us that you rejected the order”. I tell them the reason, they apologize and promise to refund the money, but it doesn’t matter anymore," the citizen explains.
In fact, the delivery company shows irresponsible attitude not only to its customers, but also to its employees. The courier was not warned about the cancellation of the order.
It turns out that the Ministry of Economy today was entrusted to a person who could not resolve the problem with the management in his company, which provides services with mopeds and bicycles.
