U.S. State Department welcomes the release of 10 Armenian prisoners
The U.S. State Department has welcomed the release of 10 Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan following the talks hosted by the European Union. "We welcome Azerbaijan's release of 10 Armenian detainees on December 19 with EU support," Spokesman at the State Department Ned Price tweeted on Sunday.
"We urge the full and expeditious release of all remaining detainees, exchange of remains, and accounting for missing persons. We stress the importance of humane treatment of detainees in accordance with international obligations," Price added.
To remind, on Sunday Azerbaijan released 10 Armenian prisoners of war following talks between the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
