Armenia's authorities knowingly enter a process which lacks any possibility to benefit - Tigran Abrahamyan
"Armenia's authorities knowingly enter a process which lacks any possibility to benefit or win," opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page, commenting on the recent development of the Armenian-Turkish relations.
"The issue of appointing an envoy for the semi-secret process of the Armenian-Turkish normalisation is not the most risky part. If there is tsunami in the sea, no point to discuss whether the one in the epicenter of the disaster knows swimming or not. The problem is that Armenia's authorities knowingly enter a process which lacks any possibility to benefit or win," Abrahamyan stressed.
In the words of the lawmaker, Armenia's leadership knows well that Turkey starts the process with preconditions and succumbs to that adventurism realizing the consequences.
"The process is backed by the pro-government propaganda campaign, aimed at sidelining the issues of security, and of regional and geopolitical importance, instead focusing on the social-economic factor. This is a working and effective mechanism to persuade people. If there is no security, no prosperity will ever come," Abrahamyan concluded.
