Electricity generation drops in Armenia in the past 10 months
A total of 6 billion 163.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated in Armenia in the past 10 months, down by 3.1% from the same period of 2020, Armenia's National Statistical Committee revealed.
According to the latest figures, electricity generation at thermal power plants increased by 5.6% to 2,750.9 million kilowatt-hours in January-October 2021. Meantime, power generation at hydropower plants increased by 25.2% to 1,959.3 million kWh in the reporting period.
In January-October 2021, Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) generated 1 billion 375.8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, a drop by 36.6% against the same months of 2020.
Electricity generation at solar power plants stood at 76.2 million kWh in the first seven months of this year, securing a 4,4-fold growth from the same period last year.
