All questions will be answered tomorrow - Hayk Marutyan
Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan refused to take questions from reporters after today's failed meeting of the city Council due to the lack of quorum.
"What was the reason for leaving the Civil Contract party? What were the ideological differences? Are you planning to form a new political party or join other party?" were the questions addressed to Marutyan.
"I will speak tomorrow. A sitting [ed. of the city council] is scheduled for tomorrow, and all pending questions will be answered," the mayor said.
To remind, earlier today members of the My Step faction, which hold majority at the Yerevan City Council, boycotted its meeting. The faction, which had initiated a motion of no-confidence in Marutyan, announced its decision not to take part in today’s meeting of the municipal council, adding it plans to hold a “special meeting after the election of a new mayor on December 22.”
The pro-government majority clarified that the reason for the boycott was the “political crisis between the City Council and the Yerevan mayor.”
