Putin: Humanitarian situation improved in Artsakh due to presence of Russian peacekeepers
Russian peacekeepers guarantee peace and security in Nagorno Karabakh and have done a lot to improve the humanitarian situation, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Tuesday at an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry board.
"It has been a year since Russian peacekeepers have been ensuring stability in Nagorno Karabakh, and due to their efforts the humanitarian situation has improved there. Number of regions have been cleared of mines, social infrastructure restored and historical cultural monuments preserved," the Russian president said, as quoted by Ria Novosty news agency.
Putin thanked the peacekeeping contingent for professionalism and perseverance.
