‘Kafka's Dream’ to be screened at Film Maudit 2.0 festival
“Kafka's Dream” short animated film by ArtStep Studio, produced with the financial support of the National Cinema Center of Armenia, was included in the 3rd edition of Los Angeles International Film Festival – Film Maudit 2.0, which will be held from January 12 to 23, 2022, the Cinema Center reported on Tuesday.
The name of this festival, which literally means "cursed films" in French, was given in honor of legendary artist Jean Cocteau, who coined the term "Maudit Film" as a counterbalance to official cinema to promote avant-garde films. There were two editions of the festival – in 1949 and in 1950.
The film festival is going for "adventurous" works dedicated to socio-political issues, forbidden topics, challenging artistic hypotheses. “Kafka's Dream” brilliantly meets all of these criteria.
The National Cinema Center extended congratulations to the film's creative team, its director Davit Babayan and producer Armine Harutyunyan.
