Armenian FM, CSTO chief hold meeting in Yerevan
Armenia’s Foreign Minister and Chairperson of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday received CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, who is in Yerevan on a working visit, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of summarizing the project "The implementation plan of the decisions of the September 2021 session of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the priority directions of the CSTO activities during the presidency of the Republic of Armenia." Stanislav Zas presented in detail the provisions of the program, and assured that all necessary efforts will be made by the CSTO Secretariat and Joint Staff to implement them in a timely manner.
During the meeting, the foreign minister also briefed the CSTO head on the situation in the eastern border area of the Republic of Armenia, and emphasized the need for practical steps aimed at increasing the level of security and safety in accordance with the trilateral statement of November 26, 2021.
In the context of the aforementioned, as well as current regional developments, the sides once again highlighted the importance of the allied cooperation of the member states aimed at ensuring security and stability on a collective basis.
