Civic Consciousness NGO head Narek Samsonyan summoned again by police
Narek Samsonyan, head of the Civic Consciousness NGO and founder of AntiFake.am website, has been summoned again by the Armenian police, he said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
"Today I have been summoned again by the police to give explanations. We have agreed with a police officer that I will show up and give explanations at around 6pm,” he said, warning against any “unlawful” actions by police officers before that.
Samsonyan was detained on his way to the Investigative Committee on 14 December and released two days later. He is charged with infliction of a “grave insult” based on a complaint of Davit Khazhakyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the Luys faction.
“I consider all this as part of an ongoing process of restricting my freedom of speech and simply political persecution,” he said.
