No Omicron cases detected in Armenia so far, minister says
A total of 1,591,809 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Armenia to date, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan told a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
920,650 people received the first vaccine shot, while 670,710 people got both doses. 500 citizens received a third booster dose, the minister added.
She noted that the epidemiological situation in Armenia has improved, with only 129 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in the country in the past 24 hours.
No cases of Omicron strain have been detected in Armenia so far, Avanesyan said.
In addition, she noted that Armenia has purchased 200,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine, adding the procurement process is nearing completion.
The Armenian government allocated 1.2 billion drams to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of the vaccine doses. Additionally, the government approved a decision to provide 2.5 billion drams to the ministry to fight the pandemic.
