Fully vaccinated people 3.8 times less likely get infected with coronavirus - Gayane Sahakyan
Some 0.39% or every 337th unvaccinated person in Armenia is exposed to coronavirus infection, the representative of Armenia's ministry of health Gayane Sahakyan told during a seminar on vaccination campaign in Armenia amid the coronavirus pandemic. In her words, 0.08% or 1290th person is exposed to the virus if they are vaccinated. In other words, fully vaccinated people 3.8 times less likely get infected with coronavirus.
Sahakyan said that while Covid-19 infections do occur in fully vaccinated people, these instances appear to be rare. She referred to the statics suggesting some 1.3% of those who got their first vaccine shot have been infected with coronavirus and 1.2% of those fully vaccinated.
Of those vaccinated citizens who get infected, only 0.12% are hospitalized and only 0.011% are transferred to intensive care unit.
