Artsakh resident accidentally crossed into Azerbaijani-held territory – NSS
An Artsakh man lost his way and accidentally crossed into Azerbaijani-held territory, where he was detained by Azerbaijani forces, the National Security Service (NSS) of Artsakh reported on Wednesday.
The man, identified as Armen Verdyan (born in 1971), is a resident of Aygestan, a community in the Askeran region of Artsakh.
The civilian was reported missing at around 7:30am.
Russian peacekeepers were immediately alerted about the incident. Negotiations on the return of the citizen to the Armenian side are underway, the NSS said.
