Pegasus Airlines applied to Armenia's aviation authorities for permission to operate Yerevan-Istanbul flights
Turkish Pegasus Airlines has applied to Armenia's Civil Aviation Committee for permission for charter flights between Istanbul and Yerevan, Sona Harutyunyan, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure of Armenia told TASS news agency on Tuesday.
“Turkish airline Pegasus applied to operate twice a week as of February. The Armenian Civil Aviation Committee is currently evaluating this application and announce its decision in due course,” Harutyunyan said.
Earlier, Armenian airline company Flyone Armenia obtained permission from the country’s Civil Aviation Committee to operate three times a week Yerevan-Istanbul flights.
On December 16, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that Ankara was considering the bids from the Turkish and Armenian airlines for Istanbul-Yerevan-Istanbul flights.
