Armenian MP: Situation in Kazakhstan threatened much more severe consequences for Eurasia
The violent protests in Kazakhstan threatened much direr consequences for the Eurasian region, Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition With Honor faction said on Facebook on Friday.
He believes the developments in the country should be viewed in the broadest context of regional security. It is still not clear whether there were real reasons for such events unfolding in Kazakhstan, whether the socio-economic factor was the main reason or it was just a spark, Abrahamyan said.
"If there is external influence, who are the moderators?” he noted, adding signals from various geopolitical centers do not reveal the “real actors”.
“The involvement of CSTO mechanisms was prompt, which shows the situation in Kazakhstan or its explosion, regardless of the causes, contained a threat of much more severe consequences for the Eurasian region,” the lawmaker stated.
According to him, despite the lack of clarity on the actors, it is obvious that there are “active hotbeds in the country, which cannot be extinguished in a short time.”
