Covid-19 situation worsening in Armenia, expert warns
The number of new daily Covid-19 infections has increased in Armenia. Moreover, for the first time in the recent past, a rather high Covid reproduction rate has been registered. Romella Abovyan, Head of the Department for Epidemiology of Noncommunicable Diseases and Nosocomial Infections at the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, told a news conference on Thursday.
In her words, the coronavirus reproduction rate has now reached 2.3.
“This is the first time such a high reproduction rate of the virus has been recorded,” she said.
The expert noted that an increase in the incidence has been recorded in all age groups of children and adolescents.
“While a few days ago Armenia was in the "green zone" according to EU standards, now it is in the "orange zone," Abovyan said.
