Friday’s court hearing in Goris mayor’s case cancelled
Friday’s court hearing in the case of Arush Arushanyan, the arrested mayor of Goris community in Armenia’s Syunik Province, will not take place, his lawyer Erik Aleksanyan said.
He details that presiding judge Gnel Gasparyan is to participate in a regular meeting of the General Assembly of Judges slated for the same day.
A bloc led by Arush Arushanyan won the 17 October local elections in Goris by a wide margin. He was installed as Goris mayor by force of law on 11 November, but remains in custody.
Arushanyan has been placed under arrest since 16 July after being charged with electoral offence.
