Armenian tenor Liparit Avetisyan performed with the Berlin Philharmonic
Armenian tenor, soloist of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Liparit Avetisyan performed with the Berlin Philharmonic for the first time, the Opera theatre reported. Avetisyan performed P. Tchaikovsky's "Iolanta" on January 12, anmmedia.am reports. According to the source, the title role was performed by Asmik Grigorian, who has become one of the most sought-after singers in her field since her acclaimed portrayal of Salome at the Salzburg Festival. The Armenian singers, under the baton of Kirill Petrenko also will appear with the same roles on January 14 and 15.
Liparit Avetisyan was born in Yerevan and studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory and the Komitas State Conservatory, Yerevan. His many roles with Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet include Alfredo and Don José (Carmen). His performances with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra include the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Rodolfo (La bohème) and in Verdi’s Requiem. In 2016, he made his debut with Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre as Des Grieux (Manon, new production) and has since sung Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and the Prince (The Love for Three Oranges, new production) for the company.
Avetisyan has sung at the XXI International Music Festival Stars of the White Nights in Saint Petersburg, Moscow Easter Festival, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Poland, MustonenFest in Estonia and Midem Festival in France.
