Armenia bans poultry products from Poland and Czech Republic
Armenia has announced a temporary ban on import of all types of poultry products from Silesian region of Poland and Ustetsky region of Czech Republic, where avian influenza cases have been recorded, the country’s State Service for Food Safety at the Ministry of Agriculture said on Friday in a released statement.
The ban, which became effective from January 17 based on information of the World Organization for Animal Health, aims at preventing the spread of avian influenza into the territory of Armenia.
Aside from live poultry, the ban is also applicable to all types of poultry products, raw materials (feather, fluff), eggs for sale and incubation, bone flour, feed, complementary feeding stuff (excluding the complementary feeding stuff containing synthetic and chemical materials), eggs’ polymer and cardboard boxes and small boxes.
