Blizzard, snowstorms reported on number of roads in Armenia
It is snowing in Armavir, Baghramyan, Talin, Artik, Akhuryan, Ashotsk, Abovyan, Sevan, Noyemberyan, Gavar, Martuni, Tchambark, Vardenis, Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Tashir, Masis, Artashat, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, Goris regions of Armenia as of 09։00am, January 20, the ministry of emergency situations reports in its daily update of the road condition. Vardenyats pass is closed for all types if vehicles due to a blizzard.
Black ice is formed on roadways of Ashtarakn and Hrazdan regions and on certain sections of Stepanavan turns. Mastara-Lanjik-Gyumri roadway is difficult to pass for vehicles with trailers.
The road crews are carrying out cleaning works with chemical salt and sand to ensure road traffic safety. All interstate and regional roads are open for traffic, the source said.
