Lawyer: Armen Charchyan's arrest proved illegal once again
The expertise carried out by an interdepartmental commission has proved that famous Armenian doctor and opposition MP Armen Charchyan was arrested unlawfully, his lawyer Erik Aleksanyan claimed.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the lawyer said they had received a copy of the conclusions of the expertise of the interdepartmental commission dealing with Charchyan’s case.
“Accordingly, the diagnosis identified as a result of the examinations corresponds to the serious illnesses specified in government Decision No. 825-N of May 26, 2006, which are incompatible with arrest as a measure of restraint or conviction,” he wrote.
“This goes to prove once again that the arrest of Armen Charchyan from June 23 to December 10, 2021 was illegal,” Aleksanyan said.
