Court hearing in Kocharyan's case postponed
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by judge Anna Danibekyan, on Tuesday postponed the hearing in the case of second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan.
Both Kocharyan and Gevorgyan were absent from today’s hearing. The former president’s attorney, Hayk Alumyan, explained that members of Kocharyan's family tested positive for Covid-19, so he, too, took a test, the result of which will be announced this evening.
Gevorgyan's lawyer Lusine Sahakyan said that her client was taking part in the PACE session remotely. The PACE session is being held in Strasbourg on January 24-28, of which the court had been notified in advance.
According to preliminary data, the court hearing has been postponed to February 1, depending on the result of Kocharyan's test.
