Armenian ombudsman discusses human rights issues with French ambassador
Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Arman Tatoyan on Tuesday met with French Ambassador to Armenia Anne Louyot to discuss issues related to human rights protection in Armenia.
Issues concerning the professional activities of journalists, women's and children's rights were discussed during the meeting, the ombudsman’s office reported.
In addition, Tatoyan presented the French diplomat the results of his visit to Paris last December. According to him, during the meetings in France, the human rights situation in the post-war period and the need to create a buffer zone to protect the rights of residents of Armenia’s border settlements were discussed in detail.
The ombudsman thanked the ambassador for the fact that French authorities pay special attention to the rights of the Armenian community.
