Armenian MP: Radical changes needed to ensure border security and effective service
Radical changes are required to ensure border security and effective military service, according to Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan from the opposition With Honor faction.
He states that the border protection/defense models that were in place before the 44-day war will either not work or will be highly ineffective in the current conditions.
"The key task of ensuring border security is not about the discourse of military tent/shack/stone shelter, but what kind of baseline capabilities you have when carrying out defensive operations, counterattack or attack during combat duty? How do you ensure the course of combat operations for a military base – from intelligence, infrastructure to logistics, rear support and safe movement?” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“The path chosen today is wrong in terms of model and ideology, while the changes are inertial," he added.
